Sweet Janie / Miss Canada
This 25" doll has a rigid vinyl body and soft vinyl head, and blue sleep eyes with lashes. She is jointed at shoulders, neck, waist and hips, and has red toenail and fingernail polish. Her dark brunette or blonde hair is coarse, wavy, and very short. She was also available in a 20" version.
She is unmarked except for a small bump on her lower back and a horizontal plate line on the back of her neck.
She wears a white nylon organdy over taffeta dress with red, pink and green embroidery, matching crownless hat, white cotton knit panties, white shoes and a pearl necklace.
As Deluxe Fashion Parade, she comes complete with three other ensembles. As pictured on her box (25" version), they are all street-length dresses with hats. One is a blue satin dress decorated with flowers and lace circles, with matching hat. Another is a brown dress with large dark pink flower in center of skirt with bow---you can see layers of lace in front which makes her look as though she is wearing a slip. The sleeveless bodice has long wide ties at the shoulders.
Her box lid, shown below, has wonderful graphics; the side of the box pictures her outfits. The 20" version came in a different box, with different outfits.
She was also sold as Sweet Janie in a different box, without the extra outfits. See b&w photo in "Modern Collector Dolls, Fourth Series" by Patricia R. Smith.
In Canada, she was called Miss Canada, and came with three extra outfits, but only one of the extras was a street-length dress, in green satin with a matching hat. The other outfits were a pink negligee set and a bridal gown.
