This doll was advertised as "Honey the Teenager" in the 1961 Alden's Christmas catalog. She is one example of an African-American glamour doll, which are rare compared to the number of caucasian dolls made by various companies. Her manufacturer is unknown.
Body Construction
Honey is a 20" doll molded of light brown vinyl. She has brunette rooted hair, frosted with blonde, in a ponytail style, and brown sleep eyes with brush lashes. She appears to be jointed at the neck, shoulders and hips.
Clothing
Honey wears a red skirt, white sweater, pearl drop earrings, a white bow in her hair, and generic white plastic high heels.
Is the doll pictured below Honey? Here is a closeup of her face. (Note the blonde highlights.)
